Not only will the U.S. Senate's so called "Comprehensive" Immigration Bill destroy America in the next 20 years -- America will be destroyed anyway if the rate of present immigration isn't reduced. It's the numbers stupid (broadband).
And that's not counting the flood of illegal aliens into the U.S.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT LEGALIZATION
Q. Is the senate bill an amnesty?
A. President Bush and most senators say that the legalization of 12 - 20 million illegals is not an amnesty because the illegals would have to pay fines and go to the back of the line before they would be eligible for citizenship.
LINE, WHAT LINE?
If illegals really went to the back of the line, they would have to return to their native country and get in the back of the line of those who have legally applied to immigrate to the U.S who have already been waiting years for visas. And I'm sure that all those waiting in their home countries for visas would be glad to pay a $5,000 fine to get in the back of Bush's line with the illegals in the U.S. In essence, the Senate's legalization (amnesty) differs little from the 1986 amnesty with regards to a path to citizenship. President Bush and the senate would like us to believe that when the 1986 amnesty was passed, there was automatic citizenship. There wasn't -- even legal immigrants had to wait five years before being eligible to apply for citizenship -- and the majority of those amnestied in 1986 never became U.S. citizens.
When the government waives the usual punishment and allows someone to keep what it is he cheated for and broke the law to obtain that is most certainly an amnesty -- even if they pay a fine!
Q. Will the bill stop the flow of illegal aliens?
A. NO! The amnesty ("legalization" for those who still believe the bill isn't amnesty) will be the most powerful magnet that congress has ever created to attract millions more of illegal border crossers. The reason that our present immigration system is broken is because our immigration laws have (intentionally) not been enforced. If you think that "this time" the immigration laws will be enforced, then I want to sell you the Brooklyn Bridge. The message to those in Mexico and other third world countries is the same as it has been for the last twenty years -- live and work in the U.S. illegally until the next amnesty.
Q. Will Homeland Security be able to keep track of temporary guest workers and the 12 - 20 million newly legalized illegals?
A. From the USCIS page: "...the law requires that legal resident Green Card holders report any change of address within 10 days of their address change. This law is not enforced. In fact, many green card holders with whom I have spoken aren't even aware of the reporting requirement. If presently, legal resident Green Card holders don't bother to report their change of address, does anyone believe that if the Senate's legalization bill is enacted that the government will be able to keep track of all newly legalized aliens and the 100 million new immigrants expected in the next 20 years? Does anyone believe that all dangerous people like Mohammed Atta and MS-13 gang members are going to come forward to be legalized so that the government can keep track of them?
Q. Will illegal workers be able to find work without proper documentation?
A. Yes. There are no provisions in the bill to impose punishment for illegals who are found to be fraudulently seeking work. According the the Basic Pilot Work Verification System, an employer who finds that an applicant is unauthorized to work, can only refuse to give the applicant a job -- he is NOT permitted to report the applicant to the authorities.
Q. Are there any provisions in the bill which mandates that state and local governments assist the federal government in enforcing immigration law?
A. No. Cities like Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Houston, San Francisco, just to mention a few, will continue to be sanctuary cities.
Q. Are there any provisions in the bill which would prohibit cities from accepting Matricula IDs as official identification?
A. No.
Q. Are there any provisions in the bill to require that day labor centers verify workers work authorization?
A. No. The day labor center is not the employer. The employer is the tax cheating "pay under the table" contractor who will not verify the work authorization of the employee he will exploit.
Q. How could illegals duck the immigration system altogether.
A. By being self employed. The senate's bill will not effect millions of self employed illegal aliens who are gardeners, nannies, or small self employed workers who are hired by small mama-papa businesses or off the street by contractors.
