The decline of America
History has proven that a democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.
From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse over loose fiscal policy, which is usually followed by a dictatorship.
The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history has been about 200 years. Prepare your children and grandchildren.

Economic Decline
In his presentation, David Walker said that anyone who doesn't grasp the graveness of our economic future either doesn't know economic history or isn't very good in math. Unfortunately, the vast majority of today's immigrants along with a majority of American Citizens fall into that category.
Ignoring the writing on the wall, President Obama appointed Timothy Geithner as Treasury Secretary (he's the guy who blamed Turbo Tax as the reason he didn't pay his taxes) who admitted in the senate, that U.S. spending was unsustainable.
Immigration
A "better life" to most third world immigrants (legal and illegal) means having the things they couldn't have in their own country such as cars, home entertainment centers, air conditioning, stereos, washing machines, and etc, adding energy usage to our already deteriorating environment while the numbers ad sprawl to our already overcrowded cities.. The mostly poor uneducated immigrants who become U.S. citizens vote for political leaders who will give then a better life -- they don't necessarily vote for political leaders who promise liberty, freedom, and fiscal prudence.
One of drawbacks of democracy and free speech, is that it allows those who hate Democracy to advocate and vote for tyrannical systems of government, such that if achieved, there would be no turning back -- democracy would no longer be allowed. Oxymoronically, democracy would vote itself out. Massive immigration virtually imports poverty and culture clash (the days of the "melting pot" are over). If immigration levels aren't reduced NOW, your grandchildren will be living under Sharia Law.

Industrial Decline
When the U.S. entered WWII, we were an oil exporter. Now due largely to the environmentalist lobby, we depend on buying oil from our enemies. This needn't be. Develop alternate forms of energy? Sure, but for now we have enough oil, coal, and natural gas for us to be able to tell the Saudis and their ilk to shove it.
The automotive industry in the U.S. virtually created the middle class. The U.S. was the World's manufacturing giant. Today, there is hardly any consumer product that isn't manufactured in China. It's no wonder that the Chinese are laughing at us. One way our president could have stimulated the economy and brought manufacturing jobs back to the U.S., would be to have lobbied for congress to exempt corporations that manufacture their end products in the U.S. of corporate taxes which would have ultimately been passed on to the consumer.
