You don't know you're being invaded until you try to stop it.

In 1994, this brochure was distributed by the Proposition 187 Campaign. It accurately predicted what would happen if Proposition 187 failed (or was struck down).

THE BIG LIE: Proposition 187 was struck down by the courts.
Many lower federal courts manifest their disdain for the popular will of the people by arrogantly overturning the wishes of the majority of the voters expressed in statewide referenda. A single Jimmy Carter-appointed federal judge, Mariana Pfaelzer, in 1994 nullified California Proposition 187, which would have prohibited giving taxpayer benefits to illegal aliens. Proposition 187 received five million votes, but it was nullified by only one federal lower court judge.

But Mariana Pfaelzer's ruling was not the last word. Proposition 187 was on its way to the Supreme Court for the final ruling, but Mariana Pfaelzer stalled the process long enough for then Governor Gray Davis to kill the proposition -- more accurately, kill the people's vote. Proposition 187 never had its day in court!

One judge's idealogical ruling against the citizens of Calfornia was enough to embolden illegal aliens, U.S. Cities' mayors, Mexico and other foriegn countries to "claim their rights."

The "open border" lobby hide their real wishes of open borders by putting the illegal immigration blame on employers. In truth, they don't want enforcement of employer sanctions -- but it is safe to pretend so in the belief that employer sanctions would never be enforced. Now that the house has voted to require work eligibility verification by employers, these same open border advocates are screaming "foul."

ILLEGAL ALIENS LIVING IN THE SHADOWS?
They work; they drive cars with or without licenses; they collect welfare; they hold office and vote in local elections; they testify in state capitals; they hold public demonstrations; and now with some help from politicians like L.A.'s city council and Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa; they are demanding that not even illegal alien criminals be deported.

Kitty Pilgrim: Illegal alien gang members in this country have become the subject of an unbelievable new debate. Open border advocates are now criticizing federal and local authorities for deporting some of the most violent criminals.

Casey Wian (from Los Angeles): Nearly 1800 illegal alien gang members have been deported since February under operation community shield, the joint effort by Immigration and Customs Enforcement and several local police departments. A model of successful immigration law enforcement is now the target of protests.
